Jim Dent was born on May 9, 1939, in Augusta, Georgia. His height is 6 feet 3 inches with a weight of 224 pounds. He is an American professional golfer. He was born in the of home of the Masters. His Champions Tour victories include the 1989 MONY Syracuse Senior Classic and Newport Cup, the 1990 Vantage at the Dominion, MONY Syracuse Senior Classic, Kroger Senior Classic and Crestar Classic, the 1992 Newport Cup, the 1994 Bruno's Memorial Classic, the 1995 BellSouth Senior Classic at Opryland, the 1996 Bank of Boston Senior Classic, the 1997 Home Depot Invitational, the 1998 Home Depot Invitational.
 
He had his first over-60 victory since the summer of 2002. He has made his first career hole-in-one on the Champions Tour at the Ace Group Classic in Naples. He became the first player since Tom Jenkins in 2003 to have multiple aces in a season when he made his second hole-in-one in the final round of the Commerce Bank Long Island Classic. In 2004, he has claimed his ninth career Georgia-Pacific Grand Champions title at the Administaff Small Business Classic and has finished T5 in the overall event. He has made just one bogey over 54 holes and cruised to an easy three-stroke win over Dave Stockton in the Georgia-Pacific competition. His Champions Tour playoff record is a mark of 2-2.
