Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. The Tour Championship is the final event of golf's PGA Tour season. The top 30 money winners on the PGA Tour after the penultimate event qualify for the Championship, which is one of the richest tournaments on the tour.
 
Jerry Pate, at the Champions Tour, finished T34 at the MasterCard Championship at Hualalai, and finished 1st in 2004 at the Senior British Open. In the Nationwide Tour he finished T52 in 1994 at the Nike Central Georgia Open. In 2005 in the Champions Tour he finished T8 at the Allianz Championship and T8 at the Constellation Energy Classic. He also won the 2004 Senior British Open at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland and also finished T8 at the Open de France Seniors and the Ryder Cup Wales Senior Open.
 
Pate claimed the 1999 Professional Golfers' Association, PGA Senior Club Pro Championship by three strokes despite starting his final round with a double bogey and represented the U.S. at the 1994 PGA Cup Matches winning the 2000 PGA Senior Stroke Play title.
 
Jerry Pate with all his dedication and devotion in his play achieved many goals in his overall athletic career. He had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. He never lost hope in himself and always fought hard to achieve his goal. He is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of golf.
