Steve Grissom’s career could have been drastically different had he accepted a scholarship, playing quarterback, at the University of Alabama. Instead, he chose to focus on his racing career, and by doing so, become one of great champions in recent years of the NASCAR Busch Series. Born June 26, 1963 in Gadsden, Alabama, young Grissom began his sporting career at an early age working on cars with his father, who happened to be a sponsor of short track drivers in their state. Grissom soon started to race, while at the same time playing as the captain of his high school football and basketball teams. He eventually joined the Winston All-Pro Series, winning the championship in 1985, and being nominated for Alabama Pro Athlete of the Year the following season.

Kenny Wallace was born on August 23, 1963 and drives the #78 Furniture Row Racing Chevrolet in NASCAR Nextel Cup Series and the #22 AutoZone Ford Fusion for PPC Racing in the Busch Series. Additionally, he works for SPEED Chanel as on-air personality in different shows such as NASCAR Victory Lane and NASCAR RaceDay. He is member of a family of drivers; he is brother of Mike Wallace, and Rusty Wallace and uncle of Steve Wallace. He is the youngest of three brothers who grew surrounded by racing even before they were able to drive.

In fact his father was Russ Wallace, one of the most formidable racers on the local dirt tracks. Due to the early success of him in these events, the family earned the nickname “Herman.” He won 400 races by that time. The first to call Kenny Herman was the track promoter Bob Miller who had noticed his boisterous behavior. This nickname has been with him throughout his career in racing. He joined his oldest brother Rusty in his team. During that time, Kenny had to work very hard because he was still in high school. He soon decided that his place was in the driver’s seat.

He had his first race in 1982 and won the Rookie of the Year honors in 1986, year in which he joined the American Speed Association ranks. Besides his successful career, he is often recognized by his personality and characteristic laugh. Thanks to their results in 2004 and 2005, he is expected to be one of the most important competitors in the NASCAR Busch Series this year.

Chuck Bown, better know in NASCAR circles as “Unkie Chunky”, is one of the great pilots the Busch Series has known. Racing is a passion that runs deep in his family, since his younger brother Jim followed in his footsteps, and he has also made a name for himself competing in NASCAR. Chuck started his career at the age seventeen in 1972, racing in the Winston Cup Series, first driving for his father, and eventually for Gerald Cracker in the mid-seventies, and finally for Jim Testa by the end of the decade. During this early stage of his career, he would achieve some moderate success, especially at the Daytona 500 and the Firecracker 400, but for the most part, his best moments were yet to come.
