Novlene Williams
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896.The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent at least one color of the participating country’s national flag. Novlene Williams was born on born April 26, 1982 in Saint Ann, Jamaica and is a track and field athlete, competing internationally for the Jamaica. She was a bronze medalist in the 4 by 400meter relay at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. At the 2005 World Championships in Athletics she won a silver medal together with Shericka Williams, Ronetta Smith and Lorraine Fenton. At the 2006 Commonwealth Games she won a bronze medal over 400 meters. She studies Commercial Recreation and Hospital Management at University of Florida, United States. She trains in Gainesville, Florida under Coach Tom Jones. Her hobbies are television, music and movies. She has the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. She never lost hope in herself and always fought hard to achieve her goal.
