Nicolaos Trikupis
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896.The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent at least one color of the participating country’s national flag. Nicolaos Trikupis was a Greek shooter. He competed at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens. Trikupis competed in the military rifle event, placing third with a score of 1,713. He hit the target 34 times out of a possible 40. He also entered the free rifle, though his place and score in that event are unknown except that he did not finish in the top five.
He is a player known for his mental toughness owing to which many of his famous matches went the distance. His superior approach and dedication to the game made him stand out from the crowd.
