Natalya Sokolova
The Olympic Games or Olympics is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag. Natalya Sokolova was born on 6th of October, 1949 and is a Soviet athlete who competed at the Olympic events. She mainly participated in the 400 meter events. Sokolova was trained at Dynamo in Moscow and competed for the USSR, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in the 1976 Summer Olympics held in Montreal, Canada. She competed in the 4 by 400 meter event where she won the bronze medal with her team mates Inta Klimovica, Lyudmila Aksenova and Nadezhda Ilyina. Natalya Sokolova is a player known for her mental toughness owing to which many of her famous matches went the distance. Her superior approach and dedication to the game made her stand out from the other players of her epoch.
