The Olympic Games or Olympics is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag. Natalie Darwitz was born on October 13, 1983 in Eagan, Minnesota and is an American ice hockey player who competed at the Olympics events. She began ice skating at age 4, played on the Eagan High School varsity girl’s hockey team since she was in seventh grade, scoring 170 goals before she even enrolled at the high school and enjoys softball, inline skating and fishing. Darwitz debuted at age 15 with the United States National Team in the 1999 season, playing four games at the three Nations Cup in Finland. She was a two time Olympic medalist including one silver in 2002 and a bronze in 2006. She was also a four time United States World Championships team member from 1999 to 2001 and 2004. Darwitz was second on Team USA in scoring and led the team in goals scored and game-winning goal in the Olympics and ranked first. Darwitz earned a reputed position for herself and her nation in the Olympic history by compiling a bronze medal. She strived hard, regardless of the painstaking conditions in her overall athletic career. She is not only a potential player but an athlete with unique qualities and tremendous patriotism for her nation.
