Mircea Fulger was born on January 26, 1959. He is a retired boxer from Romania. At the 1984 Summer Olympics he won the bronze medal in the men's light welterweight division. In the semifinals he was beaten by evental silver medalist Dhawee Umponmaha of Thailand.

He is a player known for his mental toughness owing to which many of his famous matches went the distance. His superior approach and dedication to the game made him stand out from the crowd.
