The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896. Tahar Tamsamani was on September 10, 1980 in Marrakech and is a boxer from Morocco, who participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics for his native North African country. There he was stopped in the first round of the Lightweight 60 kilogram division by Uganda's Sam Rukundo.
 
Four years earlier, when Sydney hosted the Summer Olympics, Tamsamani won the bronze medal in the Men's Featherweight 57 kilogram division, after falling in the semi finals to Kazakhstan's Bekzat Sattarkhanov.
 
He is a player known for his mental toughness owing to which many of his famous matches went the distance. His superior approach and dedication to the game made him stand out from the crowd.
