Kjersti Buaas
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent at least one color of the participating country’s national flag.
Kjersti Buaas was born on January 5, 1982. She is a Norwegian snowboarder from Trondheim. She placed 4th in women's half-pipe at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. She received a bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics in women's half-pipe in Turin, Italy. Buaas recovered from a broken leg only a week before her bronze-winning ride.
She is a player known for her mental toughness owing to which many of her famous matches went the distance. Her superior approach and dedication to the game made her stand out from the crowd.
