Ibrahim Bilali
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896 and were held every four years except in 1916, 1940 and 1944 due to the World Wars. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag.
Ibrahim Bilali was born on July 21, 1965. He is a retired flyweight boxer from Kenya, who won the bronze medal in the flyweight division in minus 51 kilo gram at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. In the semifinals he was defeated by Redzep Redzepovski of Yugoslavia.
Bilali is a player known for his mental toughness owing to which many of his famous matches went the distance. He had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. He never lost hope in himself and always fought hard to achieve his goal. He is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of Olympics.
