Helene Schmidt
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896 and were held every four years except in 1916, 1940 and 1944 due to the World Wars. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag.
Helene Schmidt is a German athlete who competed mainly in the 100 meters. She competed for Germany in the 1928 Summer Olympics held in Amsterdam, Netherlands in the 4 by 100 meters where she won the bronze medal with her team mates Rosa Kellner, Anni Holdmann and Helene Junker.
She had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. She never lost hope in her self and always fought hard to achieve his goal. She is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of Olympics. More than just statistics, Schmidt had the ability to control the game, to take over. She had the speed to float away from defenders and also to recover effortlessly.
