Helena Fibingerova
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896 and were held every four years except in 1916, 1940 and 1944 due to the World Wars. Helena Fibingerova was born on July 13, 1949 in Vicemerice. She is a Czech shot putter who won an Olympic bronze medal and set three world records. World records 21,57 meters on September 21, 1974 in Gottwaldov, 21,99 meters on July 26, 1976 in Opava , 22,32 meters on August 20, 1977 in Nitra. Her latest record stood until May 2, 1980, when East German Ilona Slupianek improved it by four centimetres. Helena Fibingerova has the indoor world record with 22,50 meters, achieved on February 19, 1977 in Jablonec. More than just statistics, Fibingerova had the ability to control the game, to take over. She had the speed to float away from defenders and also to recover effortlessly.
