The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896 and were held every four years except in 1916, 1940 and 1944 due to the World Wars. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag.
 
Giuseppe Gentile was born on 4 September 1943 in Rome and is a retired Italian triple jumper, who won a bronze medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics. He had later appeared opposite Maria Callas in the film version of Medea.
 
He was 2nd in 1963 and 1967 Mediterranean Games in Napoli, Italy and Tunis, Tunisia. He was third in 1968 Olympic Games Mexico City, Mexico and was 16th 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, West Germany. 

He is a player known for his mental toughness owing to which many of his famous matches went the distance. His superior approach and dedication to the game made him stand out from the crowd.
