Chun Chil-Sung was born on July 7, 1961 and is a South Korean boxer, who won a bronze medal in the men's lightweight category at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. He was defeated in the semifinals by eventual winner Pernell Whitaker of the United States.

He is a player known for his mental toughness owing to which many of his famous matches went the distance. His superior approach and dedication to the game made his stand out from the crowd.
