Christoph Bieler was born October 28, 1977 in Hall in Tirol and is an athlete from Austria competing in Nordic combined who has competed since 1996. He won a bronze medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics and a gold medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics in both 4 by 5 kilometer team events and finished 13th in the 15 kilometer individual at the 2006 games.
 
Bieler also won two 4 by 5 kilometer team medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships with gold in 2003 and bronze in 2005, and finished 6th in the 15 kilometer individual at the 2003 championships. He has thirteen individual victories from 1996 to 2006. He is a player known for his mental toughness owing to which many of his famous matches went the distance. His superior approach and dedication to the game made him stand out from the crowd.
