Jorge Julio Rocha  was a Colombian boxer. He was born on April 4, 1969 in El Reten, Magdalena. At the 1988 Summer Olympics, he won a bronze medal in the men's Bantamweight category, together with Phajol Moolsan of Thailand in Bantamweight at that time his age was 19 years.
 
Julio turned pro in 1989 and won his first 26 fights prior to losing a unanimous decison to Junior Jones in 1993 for the WBA, World Boxing Association Bantamweight Title. He went on to capture the WBO, World Boxing Organization Bantamweight Title in 1998 but lost the belt in 2000 to Johnny Tapia. His career then began to go downhill and in 2002 he was TKO'd, Total Knock Out by Manny Pacquiao and in 2003 was TKO'd by Israel Vazquez.
 
He is a player known for his mental toughness owing to which many of his famous matches went the distance. His superior approach and dedication to the game made him stand out from the crowd. Julio had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. He never lost hope in himself and always fought hard to achieve his goal.
